January at P.S. 122
We’re still working on the “upcoming” section, but I thought I’d let everyone know what’s going on in January at P.S. 122 – House of No More and Instructions for Forgetting – the shows coincide with the semi-official launch of culturebot.org on January 8th. (cross your fingers!)
Both shows are really special and we’re so excited about being able to have such a great January that we’ve scheduled special events all month long.
January 4th – special preview performance of House of No More with post-show discussion moderated by the incomparable Mike Albo.
January 8th – opening night! See either show and join us for a post-show reception at Plaid.
January 11th – talkback after House of No More, moderated by Justin Bond (Kiki & Herb).
January 15th – co-promotion with The Onion. Come see either show and join us afterwards for a reception at Waikiki Wally’s.
January 18th – talkback after House of No More, moderated by Larry Shea (MIX Festival) and featuring Tim Etchells.

House of No More
Big Art Group’s newest spectacle House of No More is a panoramic performance using live video, chroma key technology, dense sound design and split second choreography; creating a stunningly original marriage of live theater and film. Instructions for Forgetting

Forced EntertainmentÂ’s Tim Etchells asked his friends to send him stories and videotapes. The result is Instructions for Forgetting, an intimate documentary placing home movies alongside recordings of world events. Images rewind, narratives fast forward, slithers of the past are caught in freeze frame or drawn out in an agony of slow motion. Part intimate essay, part fragmentary narrative Instructions for Forgetting is a surprising and comical performance, a mapping of the links between personal history and the broader histories called culture and politics.
