saw the cherry orchard last night at bam. not sure if its open for review yet. at the risk of alienating important theater people i’ve gotta say that there’s three hours of my life i’m never going to get back. if you want more than that you’ll have to buy me a drink. or maybe i’ll write more and post when it is officially open for review. that being said, there were a few people in the audience who gave it a standing ovation. of course, they’re probably the ones who give entrance applause to movie stars on broadway.

lol. what do you think about ovations after a good performance by the way? it always annoys me. there is a feeling, and a pause – and instead of carrying it home, a carry the noise?
Oh and by the way, I still really want to see it. I am always fascinated with how the art that I had on my high school curriculum within a frame of a very specific culture is interpreted abroad. Tried to read “Crime and punishment” once in translation – SO weird!
